Imagine, if you can, the expedition winding its way up the Missouri River while sailing, pulling and poling the foot boat. Lewis and Clark State Park lies on the shores of Blue Lake, an “oxbow” formed by the meanderings of the picturesque Missouri River many years ago. The park is named for Meriwether Lewis, secretary to President Thomas Jefferson, and Captain William Clark, United States Army, who were commissioned by President Jefferson in to head an expedition into the northwest to explore the vast territory purchased from France.
They spent some time there exploring the region and making observations on the geographical conditions, plants and animals in the area. Today, thousands of people visit the park every year for outdoor recreation and to learn a little bit more about the Lewis and Clark expedition. Nature of the Area The acres of Blue Lake offer a variety of water-oriented recreational opportunities. The beach is a fine place for sunbathing and swimming.
One double boat ramp is available for easy lake access. No restrictions are placed on motor size. The lake has been eradicated for a fisheries renovation. Excellent fishing opportunities should be available in a few years. The June festival features movies about the expedition, buckskinners in frontier dress, bluegrass music and historic presentations. A major attraction is the full-sized reproduction of Lewis and Clark’s keelboat, Discovery, constructed by local volunteers and park staff.

We had originally booked a seven night stay, but unexpected truck repairs while in the Salt Lake City area forced a delay of several nights. Sites are in need of more gravel, warn away and some muddy. Road is narrow, I have a 38′ fifth and lucked in to a large pull through being available. The restrooms could use some work. The paint is peeling in the showers. Insect repellant is a must have, as the mosquitoes and other insects are great in number. The park has lots of shade. The fire ring has an adjustable grill, which was very nice for cooking. Bring your old tennis shoes or water shoes so you can walk in the creek off canyon road.
It is great fun for the kids and nice to cool off in the summer. It is a bit of a hike down then up from the creek if the road is closed due to heavy rain. If the road is open, you can drive it and go over several bridges covered by water. Would definitely stay here again if we come back to the area.

Legally Living in Tiny Houses: Can You Actually Live Tiny? Tiny House RV Living In some cases it can be a legitimate, full-time housing option if you look for places where you are allowed to legally live in a motorhome, RV, or travel trailer because you can actually build your tiny house to meet RV standards and have it officially registered as one. Living Tiny on a Foundation They can also be built right onto a normal foundation if you wanted with hook up to the public water system, sewer and other utilities but since most populated areas have minimum housing standards you would have to build this as a guest house or in-law suite and you would be subject to those regulations in your area in most cases having to make it around at least sq.
So it may not always work out you may need to adjust your design to meet code which could still be worth it. So maybe if we think ahead a lot of us might realize that maybe we would like to have two bathrooms instead of one, or a dedicated office, extra bedroom, garage, etc.

I definitely am more of a woodsy, quiet campground kind of guy. That being said, I’ll try to be objective in my review. We stayed over Memorial Day weekend, so it’s probably the busiest that this campground can possibly get. It was completely full and was definitely crowded and loud.
